DAY 4: FRIDAY, JULY 11 – ST. ANTHONY TO COW HEAD (1 NIGHT)
Today after breakfast we head back down the beautiful scenic coast retracing our footsteps and keeping our eyes open for moose and caribou. Visit Port au Choix National Historic Site & Point Riche Lighthouse.

Tonight, you will have a relaxing night at the hotel. There is a restaurant inside the hotel. You may want to visit Shallow Bay Beach, known for it’s 5km of soft, pale sand and shallow warm waters. Perhaps you can catch a glimpse of the various shorebirds that are attracted to this area.

DAY 5: SATURDAY, JULY 12 – COW HEAD TO GANDER (2 NIGHTS)
After a delightful breakfast, we set off on an exciting journey to Gander, a town with a rich history and a heartwarming story. As the "Crossroads of the World" and the inspiration for the Tony award-winning Broadway play, Come From Away, Gander promises a captivating experience!

This morning along the way, we will visit the Gros Morne Discovery Centre. Step into a world of geological marvels, cultural heritage, and vibrant flora and fauna that make this UNESCO World Heritage Site truly exceptional. Let your curiosity guide you as you learn about the fascinating stories hidden within these ancient rocks. We will also stop for a quick view of the Tablelands. This geological wonder, only seen a few places on the planet, showcases a rare phenomenon where a portion of the Earth’s mantle has been thrust up through the crust! After, we will visit the Newfoundland Insectarium, a world-class nature museum just outside Deer Lake. This remarkable venue showcases thousands of live and mounted insects, arachnids, and arthropods from all corners of the globe. From the tiniest critters to the most majestic beetles, this immersive experience promises to leave you in awe of Mother Nature’s incredible diversity. The Newfoundland Insectarium has been captivating visitors since 1998 and has garnered accolades from over 500,000 guests. Its converted barn setting, encompassing 20 acres of natural beauty, is a testament to the wonders that await us within.

Tonight, you can unwind and relax. Don't worry about dinner – there are plenty of food options near the hotel, including a delightful restaurant right on-site!

DAY 6: SUNDAY, JULY 13 – (GANDER) TWILLINGATE

Iceberg Alley, where we will have an adventure with Iceberg Quest Ocean Boat Tours.  We will explore Iceberg Alley with their award-winning boat tour as we set sail from the vibrant outport community of Twillingate. Relax as the friendly crew proudly introduces us to outport Newfoundland’s way of life, charisma and hospitality that attract visitors from around the globe.

The two (2) hour tour is supported by a compelling narrative, highlighting the natural and cultural history of Newfoundland.  The vessel offers open decks for unobstructed viewing, heated cabin and washroom facilities.  Full bar service and light snacks are available for purchase. DAY 7: MONDAY, JULY 14 – GANDER TO CLARENVILLE (BONAVISTA & TRINITY) (1 NIGHT)
Today after breakfast, we head out to the historical town of Bonavista. We will visit “The Matthew Legacy”.

The Matthew is a replica of a caravel sailed by John Cabot in 1497 from Bristol to North America, presumably Newfoundland. After a voyage which had got no further than Iceland, Cabot left again with only one vessel, the Matthew, a small ship (50 tons), but fast and able.

We will have lunch at the historic harbor front area and then after lunch we will visit Cape Bonavista Lighthouse and the Puffin ColonyBuilt in 1843, the lighthouse at Cape Bonavista is one of the few in the world where you can still climb up the stone tower and see the same seal oil fueled catoptric light apparatus that was used in the 1800s. Experience a light keeper's day in 1870 - a 24-7 job of polishing glass, filling oil lamps, recording weather patterns and watching the waves from one of the most rugged points in Newfoundland. A great destination to watch for whales, icebergs and puffins in summer.

Then we will head to Trinity to visit the Old Trinity Historic Site (optional – on your own and at your own cost). Nestled in the picturesque town of Trinity, this site showcases beautifully restored buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, including the iconic Trinity Museum and the charming St. Paul's Anglican Church.
